WatchBlocks privacy policy

Local worlds, iCloud sync, online play, community sharing, and privacy-conscious analytics.

Last updated · English

The essentials

This policy applies specifically to WatchBlocks by Formidable Studio (Keaton Rozema). Features vary by edition, platform, and version. Solo worlds are saved on your device; iCloud and online features process additional information as described below. We do not sell your personal information or use it for targeted advertising.

Worlds, settings, and iCloud

Worlds, player progress, inventory, skins, mods, preferences, and local backups are stored on your device. Supported versions sync personal worlds, custom content, and progress through Apple’s iCloud and CloudKit services when available for your Apple Account. Personal world saves use your private CloudKit database; publishing a community world or joining multiplayer is a separate way of sharing content.

Apple processes this information to provide storage and syncing. Device-to-device features may also transfer game data between your paired Apple devices.

Multiplayer, friends, and leaderboards

Online features process app-specific player identifiers, your chosen player name or alias, friend codes, friend requests, presence, invitations, scores, achievements, and gameplay statistics. Your public profile and leaderboard entries may be visible to other players. Presence and session details help friends find and join you.

Multiplayer sends the world state, player actions, appearances, and any in-game messages needed to run the session to other participants. Depending on platform and connection mode, this uses nearby or local-network connections, Apple services, or the WatchBlocks relay hosted on Cloudflare. Network services receive connection information such as IP addresses to deliver and protect the service. A direct connection may expose your network address to the other participant.

Use a nickname rather than your real name. Use the available presence, friend, block, and report controls to manage social interactions. Avoid putting personal information in public names, worlds, or messages.

Community creations and moderation

If you publish a world, mod, skin, creator profile, or build, the submitted content and associated title, description, creator identity, artwork, and other submission details are stored through CloudKit and can be made available to other players. Downloads, likes, ratings, reactions, follows, and reports may be linked to app-specific or CloudKit identifiers to support community features and prevent duplicate actions or abuse.

Submissions, reports, and moderation records can be reviewed by Formidable Studio. Shared content can be downloaded or copied by others; withdrawing a submission cannot remove copies they already saved.

TelemetryDeck analytics

WatchBlocks uses TelemetryDeck in supported editions to understand usage, improve reliability, and evaluate features and purchases. Signals include app sessions and duration, device and app metadata, feature interactions, trial and access tier, paywall and purchase events, world counts and save failures, and mini-game modes, scores, outcomes, and timing.

The game does not attach your player name, friend code, world contents, messages, or payment-card details to these analytics events. It does not supply a custom player identity to TelemetryDeck. The SDK uses a hashed, app-scoped identifier. TelemetryDeck describes its identifier protection and IP-address handling in its privacy FAQ and privacy policy. These signals are used for product analytics, not advertising.

Optional mod-building AI

In versions with a mod-building assistant, generation happens only when you request it. The selected option explains where your request and relevant mod project content will be processed: on your device, by Apple’s Private Cloud Compute where supported, or by the WatchBlocks service using Cloudflare Workers AI for the limited free option.

The free service also processes an installation or device-verification token, usage counters, and network-derived abuse-prevention information to enforce allowances. Do not include personal or sensitive information in AI prompts or project content. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy for its processing practices.

Purchases and support

Apple processes purchases and restores. WatchBlocks uses product identifiers, transaction and entitlement information, and trial or purchase status to unlock features. We do not receive your payment-card details. See Apple’s privacy policy.

If you submit in-app feedback or a report, we receive the text you send and relevant context such as the app version, platform, current screen, world name, mod identifier, or reported content reference. Feedback, follow-up messages, and moderation replies are stored through CloudKit for support and review. Email and external feedback forms also share the information you choose to send with us and the service handling the message.

Storage, deletion, and your choices

Delete personal worlds through the world library. Cloud deletion may need a working iCloud connection to finish; deletion markers can remain to stop old copies reappearing. Manage iCloud access and stored data in your Apple device settings. Deleting the app alone does not necessarily remove synced saves, public submissions, leaderboard entries, or support records.

Use removal controls offered by your version for shared content, or contact us about removing a public profile, leaderboard entry, community submission, or feedback record. Include the relevant player alias, friend code, or content reference, and never send your Apple password. Local reset controls affect game data; they do not guarantee deletion of every online record or another player’s copy.

Personal saves remain until you delete them or remove the relevant stored data. Shared content and service records are retained as needed to operate the feature, handle support, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations. Provider backups and records follow the provider’s retention practices. Contact us for privacy requests concerning information we can identify and control.

Support and service records

Formidable Studio uses support messages and any attachments you choose to send to answer questions, diagnose problems, and resolve privacy requests. We retain those records as needed for those purposes, security, and legal obligations. Please send only the information necessary for your request. Contact formidablegamesstudio@gmail.com.

Privacy requests and children

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of personal information, object to or restrict processing, or withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. Contact formidablegamesstudio@gmail.com to make a request about information held by Formidable Studio. We may need to verify the request. You may also contact your local data-protection authority. Apple and other providers handle requests for information under their own control.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law. If a child has submitted personal information to us or through an online feature, a parent or guardian can contact us to request review and removal.

Security and policy updates

We use the protections available through the app, Apple’s platform, and the services described above. No storage or transmission method is completely secure. Service providers may process information outside your country under their own applicable safeguards.

We may update this policy when features or practices change. The date at the top identifies the latest revision. The studio privacy policy covers the website and shared studio practices; this page describes the app-specific features.
