Game systems
WatchBlocks combines a 2D block world with survival pressure, creative construction, procedural exploration, and systems you can automate or customize.
Survival loop & combat
Gather materials by mining and chopping, craft tools and armor, build shelter, farm food, and explore underground spaces. The day/night cycle changes the threat level: hostile slimes and skeletons are active dangers, while certain mobs burn in open daylight. Combat uses swords, ranged snowballs, tools, and environmental building. The current release also adds pigs, raccoons, and birds; public notes do not yet specify every spawn rule.
When you die, a gravestone safely stores your items so you can return for recovery. The Slime Boss can be summoned with a Slime Summoner; its reward is the Slime Charm, which keeps slimes away.
Farming & water
Till dirt into farmland, plant seeds, and grow wheat, carrots, and cotton through multiple stages. Harvested crops feed progression and provide ingredients for items and colored cotton. Water flows and levels naturally; in Snow biomes, water can freeze.
Power, lasers & teleporters
The electrical system includes copper wires, Power Blocks, the Gravity Block, Pulse Lasers, and six colored teleporter plates: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple. In version 1.5.4, the Gravity Block began reversing gravity when powered and Power Blocks became passthrough.
Structures
Worlds can contain dungeons and temples. The current release notes specifically call out the Desert Shrine and a Temple Locater item. Cheat-enabled structure teleportation can move you to nearby known structures.
Achievements, Collections & leaderboards
Collections track every block, item, mob, and biome you discover. The App Store currently lists 31 achievements, including one hidden achievement added in version 1.5.2. Game Center leaderboards track blocks mined.
