Getting started
WatchBlocks is a 2D sandbox platformer built around short, tactile play sessions. Start on your wrist, then continue on iPhone, iPad, or Mac when you want a larger view.
Modes & worlds
Survival asks you to gather materials, craft, farm, manage health, and face hostile creatures. Creative is for unlimited building and experimentation. Full Access unlocks saved worlds, Creative Mode, custom worlds, custom skins, mod creation, and Watch Console.
World creation currently exposes four world types: Normal (mixed biomes), Flat, Snow, and Volcanic. Terrain streams new chunks as you explore.
Controls
- On Apple Watch, use the touch interface and hotbar designed for glanceable, one-handed play.
- The Digital Crown can cycle hotbars, inventory slots, and crafting recipes.
- Drag to move, or use the on-screen joystick. Tap-to-break supports queued block breaking; Hold-to-Break includes a precision magnifying lens.
- On supported Apple devices, controller input is available. The hotbar adapts between three and five slots on Apple Watch displays.
- Jump, swim, place blocks, mine, open inventory, and craft from the contextual game controls.
A reliable first-day path
- Collect wood and turn it into planks and sticks.
- Craft a workbench, then build the tools you need to mine stone and ores.
- Place torches and build a small shelter with a door, bed, and chest.
- Gather food such as apples, bread, meat, or crops. Tilled farmland supports farming.
- Mine below the surface for coal, copper, iron, gold, and diamond. Ore blocks can be crafted into ingots.
- Use a bed and your shelter to make the night safer while hostile mobs are active.
Saving, access & progression
Gravestones safely store your items after death. Collections track discovered blocks, items, mobs, and biomes. Achievements and Game Center leaderboards provide longer-term goals.
WatchBlocks supports cross-play and cross-progression across Apple Watch, iPhone, iPad, and Mac as documented on the official game page. iCloud world sync is part of the published Apple ecosystem experience.
